Blue Eagles team manager Gabriel Chirwa fears idleness could affect the team’s rhythm in their quest for the TNM Super League championship.

Chirwa said they were worried that for the second successive week, Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has not given them a game.

“It is a worrisome situation because it has the potential to affect the team’s rhythm. We do not understand how Sulom comes up with fixtures

“When a car is in gear five, you cannot push it straight back into gear two and that is the situation that we find ourselves in,” said Chirwa, adding: “Considering the crucial stage that the title chase has reached, it would help if all the teams that are in contention were at par in terms of games played.”

Sulom vice-general secretary captain Thokozani Chazema was yet to respond to a questionnaire we sent to him.

Eagles are on third position with 40 points from 20 games.
