Easter bash for Mangochi

Gospel artists have teamed up to deliver a special Easter bash to Mangochi residents this year.

Soundmax Technologies, which is a network of gospel artists, has organised the show.

Marketing executive for the network, Shupo Sibande, said they will host the show in the lakeshore district as part of their drive to encourage residents to patronise gospel concerts and listen to gospel music more.

Katimba: It will be a day to remember

“Generally, gospel music is not taken seriously in Mangochi and, as a network, our aim is to make sure that we reach out to all corners of the country with the gospel through music,” he said.

Sibande said their target is to make Mangochi residents love gospel music.

“We will continue to organise gospel shows so that gospel music becomes part of the lives of Mangochi residents,” he said.

Sibande assured fans that everything for the day will be a success.

One of the artists to perform at the bash, Thocco Katimba, said he is prepared and is looking forward to the event.

“It will be a day to remember for Mangochi residents. I have thoroughly prepared and people will be blessed,” he said.

Katimba said he has not performed in Mangochi for some time, so the bash will be some sort of a comeback.

“I will be performing songs from my Bakha album with a full live band,” he added.

Other artists to perform at the event include Miracle Chinga, King James Phiri, Evance Mereka, Madalisto Sati, Steve and Shupo and Andrew.

The show, which will take place at Mangochi Leisure Centre on April 1, will start at 11 am and patrons will pay K2 000 at the door.
