Ecama tips government on cushioning Covid-19 impact

The Economics Association of Malawi (Ecama) says government should focus on measures that stimulate production at sector or industry levels and expenditure at household level to cushion the impact of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

In its assessment on the economic impact of Covid-19 pandemic made available to Business News, the economists’ body observed that the pandemic will result in a slowdown in key sectors of the economy, ultimately translating to a lower gross domestic product (GDP).
