ELCM opens information centre in Dowa

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malawi (ELCM) has opened an information centre at its  Madisi deanery in Dowa.

Head of the church Bishop Joseph Bvumbwe said the centre will help the youths to access information on a wide range of subjects.

‘As a church, we cannot just sit and watch when many young people are uninformed about life skills,” he said.

Bvumbwe said the centre is intended to provide knowledge, awareness and information to help the youths make right decisions and choices in their everyday lives.

He said the church decided to roll out the programme in the rural area so that technology is not only concentrated in cities.

Principal for Mponela community college, Ousman Matola, commended the Church for the project. n
