Rising dancehall/Afro pop musician Eli Njuchi says the year 2021 has been great for him as he has learned more about art and explored his talent to the fullest.

In an interview on Tuesday, the artist said to celebrate the achievements that he has experienced in 2021, he has arranged for an end of year party for his fans at an exclusive location in Blantyre that will only be revealed to ticket holders.

Eli Njuchi: I know there is always next time

“We want to enter the year on a high note. A lot happened this year and we are trying to set the tone for next year. People should expect a good time coupled with amazing memories,” said Eli Njuchi, real name Chifuniro Magalasi.

On assertions that this year he did not perform at major festivals, Eli Njuchi said it is the prerogative of event organisers to select artists of their choice.

“I am grateful for the stages I have graced this year, but most importantly the love and support I got. For the stages I didn’t perform, I know there is always next time,” he said.

Reacting to the event, Francis Mwale Jnr wrote on Facebook: “Such a brilliant young musician. Love your vibe and music.”

Others, however, felt the ticket charge of K20 000 per head was on the higher side.

During Eli Njuchi’s party dubbed ‘The Hive New Year’s Party’, there will be Eli’s live performance, the artist’s upcoming project listening session, games and fireworks.
