Elvis Freight CCL won the Presidential Initiative on Sports regional championship for the Blantyre and Districts Darts League (BDDL) after clobbering all four opponents at the Blantyre Sports Club (BSC) on Saturday.

Only five teams turned up for the regional championship to produce finalists for the two-day national finals to be played on June 23 in Mzuzu. Format of play was round-robin.

CCL beat Domasi College of Education 27-9, Staff Development Institute 26-10, White Eagles 26-10 and rivals BSC A 25-11.

CCL captain Chipiliro Mzanda warned other regions’ finalists to watch out.

“We will continue from where we have stopped. Last year, our championship was declared in our last game against North End Motors, but this year, we want to warn all the teams that we will be declared champions in our fourth or fifth game,” said Mzanda.

He said they want to meet their sponsor’s target of sweeping all domestic silverware.
