Epac FC have said they will wait for the K3 million (US$7 177) cheque that Big Bullets issued to mature before clearing two players—Mussa Manyenje and Pilirani Zonda.

Epac owner Dini Josaya-Banda on Monday evening turned down a K2 million (US$4 785) cheque from Bullets and demanded K3 million cash.

The two parties then agreed that Bullets should issue the payment through Sulom general secretary Williams Banda.

Bullets chairperson Kondi Msungama yesterday claimed that they paid the K3 million through the Sulom GS and they are now waiting for Epac to issue the clearance.

“We had a fruitful meeting with Josaya Banda and we are grateful that he understood our financial plight. He allowed us to pay K3 million instead of the initial K3.7 million.

“As a club, we are happy that at long last, this issue is now water under the bridge and that our wish to get on board these two quality players has materialised,” said Msungama.

However, Josaya-Banda yesterday stressed that the two players’ clearance will only be issued upon Bullets cheque being cleared by the bank.

“It would appear there was some communication breakdown because my instruction to the Sulom GS was to get cash and not a cheque, but nevertheless, we are in receipt of the cheque and when it passes, we will clear the players,” said Josaya-Banda.
