Epac explain Thindwa’s delay to join Caps

Epac FC have clarified that its former marksman Ishmael Thindwa’s delay to join his prospective new Zimbabwean club Caps United has nothing to do with his transfer deal.

The lanky forward  and compatriot Tsanzo Dalio impressed Makepekepe during the TopSports Soccer Challenge and Epac came up with a combined K8 million transfer fee [K5 million for Thindwa and K3 million for Dalio].

As the season is about to kick off in Zimbabwe, Thindwa unlike Dalio, did not accompany Caps on their trip back to Harare three weeks ago, creating speculation that the issue of transfer fee could be the reason.

But Epac operations manager Roy Mdechi said: “Ishmael could still be in the country because of personal reasons, but it has nothing to do with his transfer deal.”

Mdechi said Caps made a K2 million down payment and the agreement is that they will pay the balance within this month.

Thindwa said he was sorting out some personal issues, but he is now ready to leave.

“Hopefully, if all goes well, I should depart at the weekend,” he said.

Thindwa was last season’s Super League Golden Boot winner, with 15 goals.
