A Stain Malata goal from a free kick in the 28th minute gave Epac United maximum points to spoil Moyale Barracks FC Central Region outing.

Moyale had it easy against Civo United on Saturday when they won 3-1, but were not in combative mood on Sunday.

A Moyale defender fouled lanky striker Ishmael Thindwa few metres from the goal for referee Patrick Ngoleka to award Epac a free kick.

Malata made proper use of the free kick when he scored the only goal of the match.

This was Epac’s first victory this season. They lost to Mighty Wanderers 1-0 in Blantyre two weeks ago.

“It is good that we have recovered and collected three points. It could have been bad if we lost. We just need to guard against dropping points at home,” said Epac coach Abbas Makawa.

It was a free-flowing match and the game could have gone either way, but the hosts prevailed.

Moyale now are on poistion nine with three points from three games whereas Epac have four points from three games and are on position eight on the log table.

“We have to accept the result and move on. It is not easy to get points away,” Moyale coach Temwa Msuku said.
