Former pupil of Kawale Primary School in Lilongwe, Martin Mtambo, on Friday handed over to government three modern classrooms he has constructed at the school.

Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology Vincent Ng’ambi received the modern and classrooms from Mtambo at a function also attended by Minister of Gender, Children and Social Welfare Patricia Kaliati.

“This is something very noble and worth emulating. As government, we are very appreciative. Mr Mtambo has done something very special. He was an alumnus here and he decided to give back to the school which moulded him.

“This is rare and worth encouraging. This donation will go a long way in helping ease congestion at this school. If each one of us could do something like that to our schools, education could improve greatly,” he said.
