Was crowned Malawi News Model of Year 2009: Chibale

Model and former Miss Malawi Faith Chibale died on Friday aged 24, her brother Matthews has confirmed.

Faith, who was diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB) and was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre, died  at  noon.

A reigning Miss Malawi from 2010 to 2011, Faith was also crowned Malawi News Model of Year for 2009.

Matthews said burial will take place on Saturday at her home village in Manjawira in Ntcheu.

Faith, the first Miss Malawi to receive a prize of a motor vehicle, a Nissan March, took over the crown from Ellah Kabambe.

Vitu Kamanga, one of the Miss Malawi organisers, said they were shocked to lose an energetic girl such as Faith.
