Malawian actor Flora Suya left the country for Zambia yesterday where she will take a leading role in a Zambian movie Chenda.

In the movie, Suya plays the role of Chenda, a married woman who fails to conceive.

This, in turn, forces her husband to find solace in a concubine.

He stops caring for his wife, resultantly leaving her vulnerable. When her friend’s son comes for a visit, she falls for Chenda. He seduces her and she falls for him.

In an interview with On the Arts, Suya expressed joy over her leading role in the Zambian movie.

“I am happy to play this role. It is important to me to broaden my experience. Just like in life, practice makes one better and I thank God for this opportunity. I’m going to Zambia to do what I love the most,” said excited Suya.

Shooting for Chenda, which was written by Ivory Van Der Boom already started, but scenes in which Suya appears will start today and will be directed and produced by Owas Ray Mwape under his company Owas Crystal Films Productions.

“I was supposed to stay for at least three weeks, but I have to be back early because of other commitments,” said Suya.

Suya is expected to be back from Zambia on July 30.
