Local artist Faith Mussa has teamed up with South Africa’s renowned gospel musician and preacher Benjamin Dube in a song titled Ulemelero.

The praise and worship song was recorded live during a concert at Sun Arena, Times Square before a 10 000 audience in South Africa last year.

In an interview, Mussa said he first met Dube in Malawi in 2018 when he acted as the curtain raiser for the South African performer.

“We shared a stage at Bingu International Convention Centre in late 2018. After the show, he asked me to do a collaboration with him which we did last year,” he said.

Mussa said he wrote the Chichewa part of the song while Dube wrote the English part.

“Pastor Dube is a genius, a hard worker and I learnt a lot from him. I learnt how to plan a recording,” said Mussa.

The artist said before the coronavirus pandemic broke out, Dube and him planned an Africa tour.

“We were supposed to do shows in South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Malawi,” said Mussa.

He, therefore, said with the pandemic, they will have to wait before they roll the plans into action.

The song also features Jonney Vilakazi who takes the leading role before Dube and Mussa takes over.

It goes in part:

This is the first time for Mussa to collaborate with Dube.
