Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has finally cleared Conduit Soccer Academy (Cosa) striker Chisomo Kadzisonga to play for her former local club, Skippers Senior FC.

Kadzisonga signed a two-year contract with the Zimbabwean side Cosa which plays in Zimbabwe National Women Super League.

FAM commercial manager Casper Jangale and Skippers team manager Charles Mwenda confirmed the clearance on Thursday.

Cosa loaned the national team captain to her former club Skippers as Cosa are currently on off-season.

“The ITC [international transfer certificate] was issued yesterday [Wednesday] and this means Chisomo is free to participate in any football activity upon being registered with the relevant body,” said Jangale.

Mwenda expressed gratitude for the development.

“We are relieved now after waiting for so long. We got clearance from our counterparts in Zimbabwe two months ago and we have been waiting for FAM to give us the go-ahead so that we can use the player in the Peter Mutharika League,” said Mwenda.

Following the development, Chisomo who missed two games in the Central Region Peter Mutharika League is eligible to play today when Skippers, who are on position two with six points from two games, face Queen Eagles at Nanjati.

In other fixtures, Children of Nation will play against Chilinde Queens while Kamuzu Barracks will face Factured FC.
