FAM hikes charges for Standard Bank semis

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced entry charges for this weekend’s mouth-watering K20 million Standard Bank Knockout Trophy semi-final matches.

Big Bullets face Mighty Wanderers at Silver Stadium on Saturday while on Sunday it will be a Lilongwe derby when Silver Strikers engage Civo United at the same venue.

According to FAM chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda charges for open stands will be K500 all round while a seat at the covered stands will cost K2 000.

“These are high-profile matches and we are expecting huge turn-outs in both matches. I would also like to stress that security will be very tight and once the stadium is full, gates will be closed.

“We are, therefore, appealing to the fans to come in good time,” said Nyirenda.

The winners’ purse is K7 million and the trophy.
