FAM has confirmed that the Flames caretaker coaching panel will be unveiled during a press briefing in Malawi’s commercial city of Blantyre this morning.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Walter Nyamilandu said the ceremony would follow a meeting that was scheduled for Monday afternoon between the association and members of the panel where they were supposed to be communicated to about their packages.

The panel is headed by Eddington Ng’onamo with South Africa-based duo of Ernest Mtawali and Patrick Mabedi as his deputies whereas Charles Manda is the team manager. Captain Kondwani Kachipanda completes the five-member panel as team doctor.

“We’ll unveil the coaches at a press briefing tomorrow [today] in Blantyre where we’ll also outline our expectations and targets,” said Nyamilandu.

However, as of Monday noon, FAM was yet to communicate the actual time and venue of the ceremony, but it is expected to be held at Chiwembe Technical Centre.

The coaching panel will be in charge until June this year when FAM is expected to make an official proposal to government for the hiring of a permanent coaching panel.

Nyamilandu said the association is confident that the coaching panel will deliver.

Their first competitive assignment will be against Namibia’s Brave Warriors in a 2014 World Cup qualifier away in Windhoek.

The team was expected to go into camp last evening at Chiwembe Technical Centre.
