His show comes as compensation to fans following the cancellation of a tour by another Jamaican artist, Luciano.

Luciano cancelled his Malawi concert, which was slated for October 19 at the same venue, due to Ebola fears.

“He arrives in Malawi via Kamuzu International Airport on Saturday together with another Jamaican artist, Goivany. The show is the following day where local reggae and dancehall artists Black Missionaries, Blasto and Trumel will be the curtain raisers,” said the show’s promoter, South Africa-based Malawian musician Born Afrikan.

And local music icon Lucius Banda, who met both Fantan Mojah and Born Afrikan in Johannesburg, South Africa yesterday morning, said the Jamaican is geared up fortomorrow’s performance.

“He is very excited and he says Malawi must be ready for a powerful live performance,” said Lucius, who was in South Africa for a series of tours.

Fantan Mojah is notable for being one of the new wave of contemporary reggae singers who prefer include positive themes in their lyrics.

His faith is reflected in his songs, where some habitual themes include praise for Jah and messages of Rastafari, positive portrayal of women, and condemnation of ill morals.

With three albums to his credit, the artist’s hit songs include Hail the King, Stronger and Rebel I Am, Rasta Got Soul, Thanks & Praise and Never Give Up.
