Fire destroys JBF hostel

A fierce fire destroyed a boys’ hostel on Wednesday night at President Joyce Banda Foundation International High School in Blantyre, Chimwankhunda Township.

The fire completely razed down the hostel, luckily not occupied by students currently on holiday. The Nation failed to establish the cause of the fire as directors of the school could not be reached for a comment. But one of the witnesses, who rushed to the scene, said in an interview yesterday that the fire brigade arrived well after the destruction was made and it was difficult for them to rescue the situation. —Frank Namangale, Staff Reporter
