Fierce fire gutted part of Kachikungu parking lot in Lilongwe completely burning some shops and property yesterday afternoon.
According to eye witnesses in the depot the fire is suspected to be illegal connections as people discovered a dark smoke in one of the shops and very soon a fierce that could not be stopped erupted.
The Kachikungu parking lot manager Godfrey Chimdzeka dismissed illegal connections as a possible cause of fire because there were no illegal connections but the fire was caused by sparks from an electricity main pole near the shop that caught fire.
