Fire guts shops in Lilongwe

Fierce fire gutted part of Kachikungu parking lot in Lilongwe completely burning some shops and property yesterday afternoon.WhatsApp Image 2016-08-02 at 16.36.33

According to eye witnesses in the depot the fire is suspected to be illegal connections as people discovered a dark smoke in one of the shops and very soon a fierce that could not be stopped erupted.

The Kachikungu parking lot manager Godfrey Chimdzeka dismissed illegal connections as a possible cause of fire because there were no illegal connections but the fire was caused by sparks from an electricity main pole near the shop that caught fire.
