Fire has rendered homeless Group Village Head (GVH) Kachepatsonga in Traditional Authority (T/A) Chilooko in Ntchisi after unknown criminals set his three houses ablaze.

Ntchisi Police spokesperson Sergeant Gladson M’bumpha said the incident happened on Monday night at around 10pm at Kachepatsonga Village.

“Unknown criminals set the three houses ablaze when he was in a deep slumber,” said M’bumpha.

Chief Kachepatsonga told Ntchisi police that he suspects his brothers’ in-law to be responsible for the fire that destroyed various properties including pipes worth MK75 000 (US$202).

The chief said he received threats from his brother’s first wife who was annoyed because he left his sister. His in-laws threatened to burn him down while inside the house so that he die.

According to M’bumpha, investigations are underway and police are man hunting the suspects to bring them to book.
