Fisd Cup national draw tomorrow

Fisd Challenge Cup national draw will be conducted tomorrow live at  Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) television studios in Lilongwe.

According to FAM competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka, there will be no seeding during the draw.

“All the 16 teams will be put in one pot. The draw will start with round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final. So, there are chances of regional teams playing against each other and Super League giants playing against each other as well,” he said.

The preliminary phase for the Super League teams concluded on Sunday and Nyasa Big Bullets, Blue Eagles, Silver Strikers, Civo United, Epac, Dwangwa United, Kamuzu Barracks and Mighty Be Forward Wanderers made it to the last 16.

They join eight other district teams from the regional play-offs. So far, six teams have qualified from the regional play-offs while the other two will be decided this weekend.

Dululu FC and Sayama FC have qualified from the Southern Region while Nsanama and Migowi will battle it out for the third slot as they play in the match for third place.

Dwangwa Town Hammers and Lake Valley FC from Central Region will be joined by the winner between Tiakalulu and Dedza Young Soccer who will battle it out for third slot.

Northern Region already identified Zolozolo and Rumphi Pirates as the region’s representatives.

The round of 16 matches will be played on October 25 and 26 while quarter-finals will be played on November 4 and 5. Semi-finals will be played on November 19 and 20 before the final set from December 10. n
