Fisd Wizards on Saturday fired warning shots ahead of the TNM Super League second-round when they beat Mighty Be Forward Wanderers 2-1 in a friendly match at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Wizards, who anchor the top-flight league with nine points, took the Nomads by storm—scoring both goals in under five minutes through LevisonMaganizo and Godfrey Masonda.

In the second half, the LaliLubani Road side played with renewed purpose and hit one back through KondwaniKumwenda, but it was too little too late and plenty of food for thought for the Nomads ahead of next Sunday’s Carlsberg Cup semi-final showdown against Moyale FC.

Wizards are slowly making strides and their last three first-round league matches against Silver Strikers, Kamuzu Barracks and Civo United which ended in draws, were testimony that they will be a much improved side in the second half of the season.

Their technical director Peter Mponda said while it looks promising, his charges still have some way to go.

“We are getting there slowly, but we still have some work to do if we are to fight against relegation, but yes the signs are quite encouraging,” said Mponda.
