Flames to regroup mid this month
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has said the Flames are scheduled to go into camp mid this month to kick start their preparations for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifier against Swaziland’s Sihlangu away in Mbabane.
FAM president Walter Nyamilandu said new head coach Ernest Mtawali and his deputy Nswanzurimo Ramadhan are scheduled to meet this week to draw up a plan and programme of activities which will be discussed with FAM next week.
“They [new coaches] asked for an office and they have been allocated one here [at Chiwembe Technical Centre] and that is where they will be drawing up their programmes,” said the FAM president.
The FAM boss also said although the coaches’ one-year contracts run from August 1, Ramadhan has been given up to mid this month to serve notice with Bullets and ensure a smooth handover.
