The Flames got walloped 4-1 by Zimbabwe’s Warriors at the Kamuzu Stadium today afternoon in coach Young Chimodzi’s first warm-up game in front of a sizable home crowd.

The visitors led 1-0 in the first half after Peter Moyo had fired into the net from close range from a throw in which found Malawi defence napping on the 20th minute.

The goal woke up the Flames who pressed Zimbabwe until half-time break.

After pep talk the Flames started strongly and Atusaye Nyondo sneaking at the near post to glance in a header after wonderful Chimango Kaira’s cross from the left on the 50th minute.

But Kudakwashe Mahachi restored the Warriors lead on the 54th minute when meeting in the box Nkhata’s cross which had the home defence again napping in the 54th minute.

It got worse after 71st minute as Nkhata beat Malawi’s off side trap to set free substitute Pasca Manhanga who slotted the ball in between substitute goalkeeper Charles Swini. The Silver custodian had replaced Simplex Nthala.

Hopes of the Flames come back vanished in the thin air as Nkhata tapped in from close range for a fourth after getting on to the end of Mahachi’s crosss from the right on to seal the comprehensive win for the visitors.

  2. As long as Walter Nyamilandu is at the helm of FAM, nothing will improve. He and his clowning minister of sports Enoch Chihana connived to hire proven failures Jack and Young who were part and parcel of Kinnah’s pathetic panel. I believe they did this just to spite the docile and stupid people called Malawians.
If we are serious with our football, FAM should be scrapped already, seriously! This combination of people who went to school and have degrees in the name of Walter Nyamilandu, Casper Jangale, Pikawo Ngalamila, Suzgo Nyirenda and Dan Tambala masquerading as FAM should be fired and sent back for re-education. Damn the consequences from FIFA as we are not benefitting from our affiliation to it anyway, it is Ashford Mamelodi and the clowns mentioned above who are massively benefitting financially.
These guys are even failing to run the Chiwembe sports facility and have handed it over to Nigerians hiding under former Miss Malawi Emma Dipa and Allena Gandali.
What a nation of losers and thieves!
