Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has started selling advanced tickets for Tuesday’s do-or-die second leg match of the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers between the Flames and Guinea’s Syli Nationale at Kamuzu Stadium.

FAM commercial and marketing manager Limbani Matola yesterday said the tickets will be sold at 30 outlets in Blantyre until Monday evening.

He, however, said those that will pay at turnstiles on match day will pay more.

According to Matola, advanced ticket for an open stands are at K1 000 while those buying on match day will pay K2 000.

MBC stand tickets going at K2 500 (K3 500 on match day).

Covered stands are selling at K5 000 (K6 000 on match day) while VIP tickets are at K10 000 (K12 000 on match day).

“We have deliberately put costs of advanced tickets at lower prices because we would like to do away with the handling of cash on the match day,” he said.

He said they have entrusted the selling of the tickets in the hands of reputable shops and filling stations to avoid mischief and fraud that occur at such international matches.

“We have mostly involved filling stations around Blantyre because they have 24 hour service. Those outside Blantyre should do their best to purchase the tickets in our outlets around the city,” he said.

Some of the listed outlets for advanced ticket sales are Kamuzu Stadium, Mpira Village in Chiwembe, Blantyre Youth Centre, Steers and Debonair, Into Sports Shop at Chichiri Shopping Centre, Timera Investment in Mbayani amd All Seasons Superette in Chilomoni.

The recommended filling stations are Chitawira Puma, Nancholi Total, Chichiri Puma, Ndirande Energem, Ndirande Total, Poly Total, Wenela Puma and Limbe Lonhro Total.
