“The sports bonanza is part of activities we lined up to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We have grown considerably as a bank. We have branches across the country and not only that, we are also in other countries such as Zambia, Mozambique and Botswana.

“This is enough reason for us to celebrate,” said FMB head of marketing and corporate social responsibility Sylvia Mataka.

She said they will have similar events in Mzuzu for the FMB staff in the North and likewise in Blantyre for Southern Region-based employees.

Mataka said apart from sports festivals, FMB will also hold the long service award ceremony for employees.

“We have a lot of activities lined up and sports is just part of the celebration.

“We had a customer interaction day, where customers won something,” she said.

Mataka also paid tribute to founder of FMB, N.G Anadkat, saying he was a great leader and an inspiration.
