The committee which is running the FMB Under-20 League in Mzuzu has postponed the start of the second-round until participating teams fully pay affiliation fees. soccer
Northern Region Youth Football Committee vice-general secretary Edson Msopole said the second-round was supposed to start on Saturday.
He said the committee is getting pressure from referees, who are yet to get their allowances, hence the decision to postpone the kick-off date.
“During the meeting, we resolved that games should resume once teams have paid their affiliation fees. We have been receiving pressure from referees and people who printed player’s Identity Cards [ID’s] seeking their payments,” said Msopole.
He said if teams do not pay affiliation fees within two weeks, the committee will meet to find the last solution.
Fourteen teams are participating in this year’s K20 million FMB Under-20 in Mzuzu City.
Meanwhile, Fish Eagle tops the Mzuzu City FMB log table with 32 points from 13 games played.
