Vulnerability–the possibility of getting hurt. Vulnerability is the act of opening up oneself to a myriad of things, the risk of being trampled upon, misunderstood and putting yourself at a place of seeming helplessness, where frailty and weakness are predominantly experienced. For some, it is ‘perceived’ as a sign of weakness! When one is in a vulnerable position, she hurts easily, is extremely sensitive and all her nerves are at a high alert! Vulnerability births and breeds brokenness…. and yet…. 2 Corinthians 12:10 says ‘when we are weak, then we are strong.’
For us to win the battle against the pain arising out of being vulnerable therefore, we must learn how to hold our heart before God in such a manner that pleases Him in the midst of vulnerability — and one of the keys to successfully do this is to understand and believe that ‘healthy relationships’ are possible, and can be cultivated.
