Former Cabinet minister Clement Khembo is admitted to Blantyre Adventist Hospital (BAH) after being involved in a road accident along Robert Mugabe Highway in Blantyre on Sunday.
His wife, Mary, confirmed the incident in an interview on Monday. She said his vehicle hit a pavement and rolled three times.
“He was trying to avoid a pedestrian who entered the road,” she said.
Limbe Police Station deputy spokesperson Pedzisai Zembeneko said his office was yet to receive a report of the accident.
A former member of Parliament (MP) for Chikwawa East, Khembo once served as Minister of People with Disability and the Elderly in former president, the late Bingu wa Mutharika’s administration. n
