Rumphi Police Station spokesperson Victor Khamisi on Monday confirmed the arrest of Chris Msiska who works at a supermarket at Rumphi Boma.

The suspect has been charged with unlawful wounding of two people William Msiska and Macdonald Msiska, according to Khamisi who said Chris’s brother, Harris, is also under investigation.

Mhango could not be reached on his phone to comment on the development. However, on Saturday he said he had no grudges against Msiska’s family after being harassed at the funeral.

He said some relations of Msiska called him and apologised about the harassment and as an MP he values every member of the constituency.

Said Mhango: “It was not the whole family that acted wild. It was just the children. Some elders called me on the same and we talked. I have no grudges against the family. I am an MP for the whole constituency and Msiska’s relations are in my constituency, so as a leader I don’t think it will be on to hold grudges against anyone.”

Mhango beat Msiska in the May 20 2014 parliamentary elections. Msiska was MP between 2009 and 2014. n
