Maggie Chombo Academy pipped Uwe Kicks 2-0 while Ntopwa Super Boys lost 2-3 to Yizo-Yizo Warriors on post-match penalties.

According to Blantyre District Youth Football Association general secretary Joseph Semu, Namiwawa faces Yizo-Yizo while Maggie Chombo Academy will play against Ndirande Stars at Mpira Stadium on Saturday.

“At least 16 teams joined the competition in Blantyre and the qualification of the four teams into the semi-finals means they were the best teams. We, therefore, expect even more exciting football during the last-four battles this weekend,” he said.

Under-20 champions from nine districts that participate in FMB League, 28 district champions and the top four teams from regional leagues, will join 15 Super League teams for national draw.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions manager Gomezgani Zakazaka said the association was happy that the competition was progressing according to schedule.

“So far so good,” said Zakazaka. n
