Kasambara, who plays for Nkhata Bay Police, has hogged the limelight after scoring 29 goals from 13 games this season. He has attracted the interest of Big Bullets, Blue Eagles, Azam Tigers and Epac FC.

Nkhata Bay Police coach Isaac Milanzi confirmed the four teams’ interest in his marksman.

“Lot is doing well and a number of teams, notably Bullets, our sister club Blue Eagles, Tigers and Epac have shown interest to sign him.

“Of course, there is nothing concrete at the moment, but I can confirm that Ng’onamo has been inquiring about the player quite regularly.

“While we are a nursery for Eagles, the team that will move fastest and make an offer stands a chance to sign him. We will definitely not block him from prospects of a bright future,” said Milanzi.

Ng’onamo confirmed being interested to assess Kasambara.

“I have not watched him, but a player who scores 29 goals in 13 games in a second-tier league should be good. I have already recommended to management that they should make arrangements for him to come for assessment,” he said.

Kasambara confirmed being approached by a number of teams, but said there was nothing concrete yet.

“For now, the focus is to help my team to do well in the league, but I would definitely jump at an opportunity to join a Super League team that would come up with a tempting offer,” he said.

Apart from Kasambara, in the recent past, Nkhata Bay Police have produced big-name players such as Frank and John Banda, Seba Mhone and Luka Milanzi.

The team is sponsored by Nkhata Bay Police, but also gets assistance from former Youth and Sports minister Symon Vuwa-Kaunda.
