Complex Tigresses put their OG Issa Southern Region Netball League (SRNL) title hunt on the boil on Sundaywhen they earned 338 baskets from three away fixtures at Airwing netball court in Zomba.

They beat Prison Sisters and the hosts Airwing Sisters 96-12 and 92-12 respectively. In the third game, they were awarded a 150-0 triumph over a Triggers Sisters, who did not turn up, according to SRNL general secretary Annie Hanjahanja-Billie.

Tigresses’ three victories come after their impressive start to the second-round encounters with a 125-18 thrashing of Woget Stars during a midweek game at their base College of Medicine (CoM) Sports Complex in Blantyre.

The Tigresses, who are seeking their first league title in five years, are on top of the 13-team log-table with 48 points from 16 games while defending champions Diamonds are second with 39 points from 14 matches.

MTL Queens beat hosts Airwing Sisters 44-11 on Saturday to maintain their grip on the third place with 33 points from 13 games.

Tigresses assistant coach Charles Mhango said they will score as many baskets as they can to make sure they are in a better position to win their first league title since 2009.

“We are determined to fulfil our mission of ending our league title drought,” he said.

In other OG Issa second-round encounters last weekend, Prison Sisters vented their anger on Gerald Tasaukadala with a 36-23 beating while Shizaella Sisters overpowered hosts Chitakale Sisters 35-22.
