Malawian forward Frank ‘Gabadinho’ Mhango has been named among the top 10 signings in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) by that country’s leading football magazine KickOff.

The 27-year-old striker was signed by Orlando Pirates from Bidvest Wits at the start of the season in June last year.

Mhango has been on fire since joining Pirates

He has been at the hub of the Buccaneers revival, scoring 15 goals in 22 games in all competitions.

Mhango, who is currently the PSL leading scorer with 14 goals, tops the list of 10 players which the football publication has come up with.

Kaizer Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic, who has scored 12 goals in 24 games in all competitions, also appears on the list.

In an interview from his Johannesburg base yesterday, Mhango described it as a big motivation.

“It shows that people out there have noted the positive contribution I have made since joining Pirates and it is a source of inspiration,” he said.

Last week, Mhango was also named among the top three strikers by SuperSport.
