Flames midfielder Robert Ng’ambi has hailed compatriot Gabadinho Mhango’s impressive form at Bloemfontein Celtic in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League where most Malawians struggle to settle.

“Gaba Mhango; the boy is just too good. Mwana ndi wampira uyu [This boy is a natural footballer],” Ng’ambi posted on his Facebook wall yesterday after the ex-Big Bullets striker scored in Celtic’s 2-0 beating of Free State Stars.

Gabadinho is now among the highest Malawian scorers alongside the Platinum Stars’ ace Ng’ambi and Esau Kanyenda of Polokwane City.

Interestingly, when Celtic website www.bloemfonteincelticfc.co.za conducted an opinion poll asking fans who they felt could be the team’s top scorer this season, they had Gaba as last option with 17 percent on the list of four strikers behind Joel Magorosi (19 percent), Vuyani Mtanga (29 percent) and Lerato Manzini (36 percent).

At least 42 Celtic fans voted in the latest poll whereas in the previous poll, four supporters voted and placed Gaba on fourth position behind Magorosi, Mtanga and Manzini.
