Gabadinho Mhango and Robert Ng’ambi’s superb scoring form in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) will be put to the test today as their clubs Bloemfontein Celtic and Platinum Stars face off.

The two Flames stars have each scored seven goals in the PSL and are just three goals shy of top scorer Bernard Parker of Kaizer Chiefs.

However, whoever scores in today’s match at the Sebothelo Stadium will boost his campaign for the golden boot award as well as enjoy a great deal of limelight among soccer fans both here at home and in South Africa.

So far, Gabadinho has translated his rich form in scoring in three consecutive games while midfielder Ng’ambi, also enjoying consistency for the better part of the PSL season,  has scored crucial goals for the Stars.

The encounter is also crucial for their respective outfits to improve their standings on the PSL log table.  Celtic are on position nine with 33 points from 24 games while the Stars are sixth with 35 points.

Kaizer Chiefs are top with 52 points from 23 matches.  Each team will play 30 matches to wind up their fixtures.

The Celtic versus Stars’ encounter comes a month after the two sides settled for a goalless draw at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium.
