Gabadinho mar29 | The Nation OnlineFlames blossoming forward Gabadinho Mhango has been ruled out for two weeks following an ankle injury he sustained during Flames 1-0 win over Namibia in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Windhoek last week.

Though he got the knock in the game, Mhango finished the match in which he scored the winner as the Flames had already finished their substitutions.

Flames team doctor Levi Mwale, who examined the injury, said the knock is not as serious as it was previously thought.

The player sounded relieved with the results, saying he was scared.

“I am currently enjoying my game and could not think of spending sometime on the sidelines. So, I am happy it is only a minor injury.

“I will not take chances and will follow the doctor’s advice and bounce back in two weeks. This will also give me an opportunity to rest,” said Gabadinho.

The development means the Bullets secret weapon will miss Saturday’s match against rivals Mighty Wanderers in a Beit Cure International fund-raising match at Kamuzu Stadium.

Bullets assistant coach Gerald Phiri described the injury as a blow to the team’s preparations, saying he is the team’s main target player.
