Bloemfontein Celtic three-member golf team comprising Gabadinho Mhango emerged champions in a harmony-building putting competition for the South Africa Premiership side over the weekend.

A putt is a light golf stroke made on the putting green to place the ball into the hole.

Celtic website reports that the players and staff were split into groups at a place called Putt-A-Ball in Bloemfontein during the club’s team-building session on Saturday. Celtic, just like Mhango, are going through a bad patch of performance.

“Vuyani Ntanga, Bevan Fransman and Gabadinho Mhango not only enjoyed but won the first prize of R5 000 (K175 000), trophy and gold medals for their sensational performance.

“The second prize went to Keegan Ritchie, Lerato Lamola and Lindokuhle Phungulwa. A team made up of Patrick Tignyemb, Wade Jooste and Sici Shelembe managed to be the third-best side out of the 21 teams that played.”

Celtic chairperson Max Tshabalala hosted the session to boost morale of the club which lies in the bottom half of the South Africa league after managing just a single win in six matches.

“This session is to ensure that we know each other better, solidify our friendship, and learn how to help each other and revive our self-esteems as a family, the journey continues, we shall triumph,” reports www.bloemfonteincelticfc.co.za
