Big Bullets FC former striker Ganizani ‘Njoka’ Malunga says he is happy with his new role as kit master at the club.
Malunga, who was an outstanding goalscorer for the team during his heyday, said he always wanted to have a role at his favourite club after his retirement from the TNM Super League outfit three years ago.
As a kit master, Malunga is responsible for keeping and washing the team’s uniforms, collecting soccer balls and giving water to the team’s players during matches and training sessions.
“I am extremely happy that God has fulfilled my wish to have a role in my favourite team,” said Malunga after his first assignment during Bullets’ friendly against Cobbe Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Sunday.
“It is good for the team to recognise its former players like me.”
He, however, said his job will be safer once the team’s next executive committee decides to maintain the incumbent technical panel, which includes other ex-Bullets stars Mabvuto Lungu as co-coach and Fundi Akidu as team manager.
Malunga said he will maintain his post at The People’s Team after finishing a course in plumbing he is currently pursuing.
