Moyale FC has disclosed that Flames striker Gastin Simkonda will be available for the 2016 TNM Super League.

The striker, who is away on peace keeping mission in Cote d’Ivoire, missed the 2015 season.

Moyale acting team manager Chimwemwe Banda said the availability of Simkonda would boost their fire power upfront.

“We were organised last season. We played our usual good football. We only failed to utilise the scoring opportunities. The attacking position was not that aggressive.

“However, the situation will be checked this 2016 season with the availability of Simkonda. We will also beef up the squad with other players from relegated, Airborne Rangers,” he said.

According to Banda, Simkonda is expected to arrive in the country this month end.

While agreeing that Simkonda’s services were missed, soccer analyst Charles Nyirenda advised the outfit to nurture the present crop of up-and-coming players to rebuild the team.

“Simkonda is a good striker; his services can always be missed. However, there is still a need for the club to mould the current strikers to start delivering,” he said.

Moyale assistant coach Charles Kamanga said Simkonda’s place was still available in the team.

“Simkonda’s services are greatly needed, we have spared his space. We know that his presence in the team in this new season can have a big impact,” he said.
