General Odillo wins Old Mutual Golf
Malawi Defence Force’s General Henry Odillo walked tall on Saturday after winning the inaugural Old Mutual Investment Group (OMIG) golf at the Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC).
Mervin Donga was second whereas former LGC captain Ben Wandawanda was third.
Odillo received a bar fridge and a trophy, Donga got a microwave while Wandawanda received a braai stand.
“This is a great day for me. My golf is improving every day and I am enjoying it,†said Odillo. In the ladies category, Maria Chow carried the day ahead of LGC ladies captain Stella Ng’oma and O Chow respectively.
Chow received a four-plate gas cooker and a trophy.
OMIG general manager Mark Mikwamba thanked the golfers for the impressive turnout.
“Mainly, the golf today was organised to brief our customers who most of them are golfers on what the OMIG brand is all about. People associate Old Mutual with insurance, but we are also into investment with assets worth K53 billion and we are international,†said Mikwamba.
