Member of Parliament for Balaka South and president of Mafunde, I would not conclude that government deliberately ignored me at a ‘development’ rally addressed by State President Joyce Banda.

Being an MP, I would realise the importance of being punctual and therefore, I would have made it a point to arrive at the venue before the function started.

How I wish I were my good man that is Nnesa, because I would have realised that it does not paint a good picture to arrive late at a function being presided over by the first citizen and still expect to be accorded a chance to speak.

If I were Nnesa, I would have made an effort to confirm the actual time of the function before going there just to be on the safe side.

If indeed my claim that there is a silent policy government has introduced to prevent opposition MPs from speaking at such rallies, then surely the whole Balaka district commissioner Smart Gwedemula would not have given his assurance that I would be one of the speakers.

If I were Nnesa, I would also confirm my attendance at the function other than blame government for giving me a cold shoulder.

That is if only I were bwana Nnesa. Unfortunately, I am not the president of Mafunde. I am just a scribe that is Garry C!
