Gloria Manong’a returns

Gloria Manong’a Kampingu of Chilengedwe hit has bounced back with a new album Kunja Kwacha and double launch of CD and DVD slated for July 10 at Robin’s Park in Blantyre.

Amuna Anga Mundikonde is one of the tracks featured on Kunja Kwacha which is currently enjoying airplay.

The song blends biblical and social issues that affect the society today.

“It is biblical that a man has to love his wife and wife respects her husband because God created marriage in the first place. This is the basic order which the modern day society overlooks.

“That is why my new album has integrated society issues into gospel so that people should be able to draw the connection of the two,” said Manong’a.

She said her new album will officially he launched together with a DVD called The Best of Gloria Manong’a Kampingu both in Blantyre and Lilongwe.

The Lilongwe launch will take place on July 24 at Sheaffer Marquee.

She said videos on the DVD are extracted from both her new and previous albums namely; Kunja Kwacha (2016), Muyambe Nane (2015) and Chilengedwe (2012).

The DVD has been produced by Frank Maganizo and Patrick Thunga of OwnTech Multimedia.

San B, Favoured Martha, Ndirande Anglican Voices, Kamuzu Barracks Gospel Singers, King James Phiri, Mau K, Thocco Katimba, Marvellous Deeds, Evance Mereka, Fales Mang’ansa, Stella Kwantwanje and Neligo Women’s Choir from Ndirande are some of the supporting artists.

Manong’a also said that her 10-year-old daughter Peace, who will recite 50 ible verses, will be a guest artist.

“Peace is amazing. And she has asked me to perform at my launch. So, fans should expect her as the guest artist,” she said.
