God’s precious creation 1
In an age of women’s liberation, modern bible readers have understandably scruitinised Scripture for its teachings on gender. But when everything is said and done, one thing and one thing only that comes out in my mind, and that is the fact that when God created the male and female, He blessed ‘them’ – Genesis 1:27. I feel it is only right and proper that I dedicate the following articles to these awesome and amazingly wondrous people of God – the women!
When God created a woman, He intended for her to fulfil so many roles, one being a mother. Before I continue therefore, I dedicate these articles with love to all mothers out there – ‘you are my true heroes and epitome of life itself’. Indeed, as written in Psalms 139 vs 14, ‘You are fearfully and wonderfully made’!
In many cases, instead of celebrating and appreciating the diverse gifting and talents that our mothers have, because of the ease in which they multi-task the different chores, we often taken them for granted. I pray that in this article, we will be reminded of the load of many deadlines in life that our mothers bear, this with love and faithfulness, and their resilience can only be equalled by an efficiency and dedication that is irreplaceable. Do you know that although women are often regarded as weak, the part played by them cannot be relegated to the background. For example, no matter how great you have become in life, there must have been a time when you were a helpless baby in the womb of a woman. No matter how powerful you might be now, at one particular point in time, you lay helplessly in the arms of a mother, who nursed you, fed you, and lovingly looked after you for time immemorial!
Woman of God, I salute you. Your prayers for your family have had a far greater effect on them than you might ever realise. May you continue to be a priceless gift that helps others experience God’s blessings and grace. May you be acknowledged by all who really love you.
Precious woman of God, I can think of no better way of ending this article than lift you up in prayer and pray that the Lord bless you and keep you. n
