  • Sonye, Diktator heading to Cape Town

For so many years, R&B singer Sonye has been dogging performances both within Malawi and outside; however, the artist will, at the end of this month, be flying to South Africa for a show.

Sonye is one artist whose most recent song Tsika has taken Malawi by storm.

It is one local jam that even the country’s First Lady Gertrude Mutharika, “is so in love with”, according to State House sources so much that she invited the musician to perform at her event two weeks ago.

The singer is expected to fly to Cape Town alongside Shasha Wafika rapper Diktator and the two will perform at the Nico Millan Hall on August 29.

Diktator, who is also a radio personality working with State broadcaster MBC Radio 2, confirmed the news.

“I’ll be going to perform with Sonye in South Africa on August 29,” confirmed Diktator after he played Sonye’sUkadutsaduring his Thursday night show.

The two artists, who will be sharing the stage for the first time, are best known for their unique R&B and rap music.

Sonye, a singer-songwriter and producer, who dropped his first album BreakPointin 2010, is one artist who makes waves every time he drops a beat.

Apart from Tsika, his other hit singles include Mr Captain, Ukadutsaand Tabwela.

On the other hand, Afro-rapper Diktator, who will be performing in Cape Town for the second time following his 2013 show, is another artist who does not disappoint either both in the studio and on stage.

His hits include Yanga Ija, ShashaWafika, Chilibe Season featuring Nepman and Piksy as well as Zokhumba, which he features Bucci.
