MSC Gold Fattani takes on MSC Orange today in the first semi-final of the Mpingwe Sports Club (MSC), Oriental Cricket Club (OCC) 20 overs event with their eyes tilted on ending their opponent’s excellent form.

Orange are the only side in the nine-team competition that did not lose any match in the qualifying round that saw each outfit playing eight games, but Gold Fattani’s captain Soheil Manjra believes Orange’s incredible record will be buried this morning.

“We badly need a win and we worked extremely hard at practice. We struggled to earn the semi-final slot, but we are now in good shape to fight for the final berth and even the title as well,” said Manjra, whose side is seeking a second cricket crown after winning the National Bank of Malawi (NBM) trophy last year.

But Orange’s captain Khalil Badat feels Gold Fattani’s wishes are mere dreams that will not come to pass in the real world.

“We are not moving an inch back on our pursuit for the title and we will make sure to maintain our 100 percent record,” he said.

After this match, MSC Silver and MSC White will sort each other out in the other semi-final at the same venue this afternoon, according to the competition’s organising chairperson Saeed Limdawala
