GOtv Netball Champions League begins Saturday

 

If you are in Mzuzu and want to give your mother proper Mother’s Day treat this weekend, you will not make mistake to take her to Katoto Secondary School where the 2015 GOtv Netball Champions League will roll into action.

With each contesting team getting K1.2 million starter-pack, the event promises to be a memorable and   thrilling netball fiesta as defending champions Complex Tigresses, Kukoma Diamonds, Thunder Queens, Blue Eagles Sisters, Civonets, Mafco, Lameck Queens and Mimosa Queens will be fighting for the crown that will come with a K2.5 million prize.

In GOtv Plus group, Blue Eagles and Mafco will be the first to tussle at 8am tomorrow before Mimosa Queens take on Tigresses at 9:30am. At noon, Mimosa will be up against Mafco while Tigresses will face Blue Eagles at 3:30pm.

The GOtv Value group will see Civonets fighting against Thunder Queens on the other netball court at 8am whereas Kukoma Diamonds will face Lameck Queens at 9:30am. Then, the teams will switch opponents so that Civonets should face Diamonds at noon and Thunder against Lameck at 3:30pm.

On Sunday, Mafco will take on Tigresses in GOtv Plus group at 8am as Thunder will be up against Diamonds in GOtv Value group. At 9.30am, Blue Eagles will face Mimosa while Civonets will tussle against Lameck Queens.

According to Multichoice Malawi marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda,the gameswill be preceded by a colourful launching ceremony that will comprise the unveiling of a new trophy that has features of decoders, symbolizing the digital migration in Malawi.

He said 80 percent of the K18.1 million sponsorship money has been directed to the eight contesting teams’ logistics and prizes. n
