The second edition of the prestigious GOtv Netball Champions League will throw off tomorrow at Don Bosco Catholic Institute in Lilongwe with 15 matches lined up.
According to MultiChoice Malawi marketing manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda, as pre-launch hype, GOtv has organised street netball today in Area 36 which will be played between Mary Waya’s Netball Academy and women of Area 36.
“This will be played on a street with dust the way it’s played in townships. This is to highlight the fact that GOtv is for everyone and everyone is invited to join
“Waya will coach her Academy team and the women of Area 36 will be coached by her deputy at national team, Connis Mhone,” said Nyirenda.
The 2014 edition will be officially launched with a colourful opening ceremony and teams will parade the new trophy and Skeffa Chimoto, the GOtv Brand Ambassador, will be there to spice the event.
“As MultiChoice, we are excited that we are sponsoring the trophy again this year, we always want to take the lead in coming up with the most exciting tournament hence the top six teams and for the first time in history of Malawi netball fans will be treated to fast 5 format.” said Nyirenda.
