Listen to this article

Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Goodall Gondwe has urged Malawians to be industrious if the country is to forge ahead in socio-economic development.

He said this at Providence Industrial Mission (PIM) in Chiradzulu last Friday during the commemoration of Reverend John Chilembwe who led a revolt against white colonialists in 1915.sme

“The Reverend Chilembwe left a legacy. He had a dream to build Malawi into a self-reliant nation. This is why, apart from teaching the word of God, he embarked on skills development projects to ensure that people are empowered economically,” he said.

Gondwe said Malawi needs to reflect on what Reverend Chilembwe believed in such as loving one another.

He said Malawi can only realise Chilembwe’s dream if people did away with blame game and love each other to collectively develop Malawi.
