Following its March show which attracted an audience that filled Robin’s Park in Blantyre, the Great Angels Choir have opted more spacious BAT Ground in Blantyre to launch their Mwasankha Ine DVD on Sunday.

During the launch of their audio CD in March, fans crammed Robin’s Park to full capacity, creating panic inside the hall. Every seat was occupied with several others standing and filling up the dance flow.

There was hardly space to dance as is often the case during other shows.

As such, Great Angels Choir director Ephraim Zonda said they have found an alternative of bailing out Blantyre fans from the chaos of an overcrowded venue; hence, booking the BAT ground for their Sunday’s DVD launch.

Zonda said: “We know that the fan base of the Great Angels Choir is growing everyday; hence, some of the venues are proving too small to accommodate us, especially during CD and DVD launches. To us, this is a plus, but at the same time we have to consider our fans as far as the choice of the venues are concerned.”

According to Zonda, the BAT show is the launch of the Great Angels Choir’s tour across the country.

After the Blantyre show they will be at Lilongwe’s Sheaffer Gardens on December 25.

On December 27 the group will launch the DVD at Mlambe Hotel in Balaka before taking it to Mzuzu’s Boma Park on the New Year. n
